Kindergarten

Kindergarten at the Early Learning Center (ELC) provides a curriculum rich in diversity with an emphasis on STEAM and Literacy. Kindergartners participate in a structured gym class weekly as well as attend a storytime in the library that gives them the opportunity to check out books.  We enjoy a 1:1 ratio with technology and each teacher has a classroom aide. 

Children who are 5 years old by August 1 qualify to begin kindergarten that school year.   
All kindergarteners in the School City of Hobart (SCOH) attend full day kindergarten at the ELC.

Kindergarten Kickoff for the 2025-26 year is Monday, April 7th from 6:00-7:15pm at the ELC. 

Kindergarten Registration for 2025-26 will begin online on April 7, 2025.

Is your family new to School City of Hobart?

It's easy! Click here to create your Skyward username and password.

Did your student attend School City of Hobart during the 2024-25 school year?

For example, if your student is a Pre-K student at SCOH during the 2024-25 school year and will be moving up to kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year, you will register using these instructions.

  • Login to your Skyward account using your parent username and password.
  • Click "Online Registration."
  • It's important to update all of your information in Skyward each year!
Is your student new to School City of Hobart, but you already have other students in our district?

For example, if you have a Kindergartener starting in the Fall of 2025, but you already have a third grader who is currently enrolled with School City of Hobart. 

  • Login to your Skyward account using your parent username and password.
  • Click "New to District Online Enroll" to add a new student within your family.
  • It's important to update all of your information in Skyward each year!

Once your Skyward registration has been approved, you must sign up for a time for your child's kindergarten connection experience to complete your kindergarten registration.
