Who We Are
Army JROTC is a cooperative program between the School City of Hobart and the United States Army.
Army JROTC IS NOT a recruiting or training program for the military.
Army JROTC IS a leadership development and character building program.
JROTC is not a major commitment, but does require some commitment - for a semester, a year, or even longer. JROTC is a regular elective credit course offered each semester. The longer a student participates, the more opportunity to become a leader in our JROTC battalion.
Students in JROTC are called cadets. Any high school student can be a cadet. All cadets start at the Leadership Education Level (LET) 1 and can progress through a series of academic courses through
LET 4. Cadets can only progress through LET 4 if they participate every year of high school. Cadets may also participate in extracurricular activities such as Raiders, Color Guard,
Marksmanship Team or Drill Team.
