My name is Mrs. Bunda. I am a second grade teacher here at Liberty School. I have taught 20 years in second grade and 2 years in third grade. I received my Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from The Ohio State University and my Master's Degree in elementary administration from Purdue Calumet.
My husband Dennis and I live in Union Township with our two teenagers. We have miniature dachshunds named Rosie and Tootsie. My husband teaches social studies at Colonial Wheeler Middle School in Crown Point. My son, Griffin, will be starting college at Manchester University this year. He loves basketball, soccer, and track. My daughter Kaitlin is in 10th grade at Wheeler High School in Union Township. She likes music, track, shopping, and swimming.
I am originally from northwest Ohio. I grew up on a small farm where my family raised grain crops, beef cattle, and sheep. I have two younger brothers who live in Ohio. Kenny and his wife Stephanie have four children. Kory and his wife Jayme have two children.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy walking, cooking, reading, shopping, and spending time with my family. We travel to Ohio frequently to visit my parents and relatives. We also enjoy going to Ohio State football and basketball games.
My family and I had a wonderful and relaxing summer together. We spent time kayaking, attending concerts, going to the pool and beach. We went to Chicago, Indiana Dunes, and Lake Wawasee. We plan many of our trips with my husband's sisters and their families. His sister Nikki (She is Mrs. Neeley, the principal at HMS!) and her husband Gary have two sons. The other sister, Erin and her husband John have an 11-year-old son.
I am excited about this school year! I am looking forward to working with, and watching a new class of students as they grow and master second grade skills.
