Meet Mrs. Palichuk

  • My name is Shannon Palichuk. I attended Indiana University Northwest where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also earned endorsements in Mildly Mentally Disabled and Learning Disabilities. In 2013, I earned my Master's Degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University! This is my 21st year teaching in Hobart, and I just love it! I taught third grade for seven years, and this is my 14th year teaching second grade.

My husband and I began dating while we were in high school! We were married in 1998, and decided that Hobart would be a wonderful place to raise a family. We have two children.  Our daughter, Madeline, is nineteen years old. She's a sophomore at Purdue University Northwest in Hammond.  She's studying to become a nurse.  This summer she worked as a lifeguard at the Hobart Pool.  Our son, Jackson, is seventeen years old, and he's a senior at Hobart High School. Jackson was a lifeguard at the Hobart Pool, too!  Jackson plays soccer year-round.  He's currently playing soccer for the Brickies! We also have a black lab named Wrigley and a yellow lab pup named Murphy!

My family and I had a great summer! I love to organize, so I spent lots of times organizing the things I tend to neglect during the school year!  I also read a few books, which is something I LOVE to do!  We did make some time to visit friends at Lake Wawasee, and we spent a lot time relaxing in our pool.

I can't wait to learn all about my students! I'm looking forward to a great year!
