Meet Mrs. Palichuk

  • My name is Shannon Palichuk. I attended Indiana University Northwest where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also earned endorsements in Mildly Mentally Disabled and Learning Disabilities. In 2013, I earned my Master's Degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University! This is my 23rd year teaching in Hobart, and I just love it! I taught third grade for seven years, and this is my 16th year teaching second grade.

My husband and I began dating while we were in high school! We were married in 1998, and decided that Hobart would be a wonderful place to raise a family. We have two children.  Our daughter, Madeline, is twenty-one years old. She graduated from college with her Bachelor's Degree a whole year early!  She works for Lakeshore Bone and Joint.  Our son, Jackson, is nineteen years old, and he works for Best Buy.  He'll be starting school at IUN in January.  We also have a black lab named Wrigley and a yellow lab pup named Murphy!

My family and I had a great summer! Mr. Palichuk is currently working from home due to the pandemic, so it was nice to have him home with us this summer!  I also read a few books, which is something I LOVE to do! I love to organize things, so I spent some time reorganizing things I've neglected the past school year.  We took a trip to Arizona for a family retirement party.  We also made some time to visit friends at Lake Wawasee, and we spent a lot time relaxing in our pool.

I can't wait to learn all about my students! I'm looking forward to a great year!
