in Illinois and Oregon in addition to her work here in Indiana. Many of her past
bands have risen to the highest levels of accomplishment and recognition and
have received many awards for their musical excellence. Ms Trutwin believes that
"music education provides the perfect platform with which to nurture a young
generation that is disenfranchised. Band provides students with the opportunity
to belong, contribute, excel, and succeed. Through participation in a successful
band program, self-esteem is enhanced and commitment to personal as well as
group excellence is raised."
