My name is Chris and I am learning to be webmaster for George Earle Elementary School in Hobart, Indiana. I became webmaster at the end of my third grade year. It was a challenge, because there is a lot to learn about making web pages. Ms. Buffington, the Director of Technology for the Hobart School District, has great about making time to help me and answer my questions.
During the summer of 1998, I totally redid the entire George Earle website. It was fun and I learned a lot! During the 1998-99 school year, I was able to work with some of our teachers and put up pages for their classrooms.
This past summer (1999), I worked on developing new web pages for our school and changed some graphic sets. I am hoping that before I leave George Earle in June that I will have a page up for each classroom with a lot of student work. If we can do this, then this information is available for other students, not only in our own school or community, but throughout the world.
We want to leave George Earle website the best it can be! This year I hope all teachers and students will contribute their ideas, their projects and their suggestions to improving our site. This is our school's page and we all should contribute to its success.
Next year I move on to Middle School. I will be able to help a little with the pages, but I am hoping another student or several students will step in and make the pages even better. If any George Earle student or parent is interested in learning about being a webmaster, please let me know. I can show you around our site and explain what has to be done during the school year. (Dr. Buffington and Mrs. Cox are the ones who will decide who my replacement will be!)

If any
student, parent or teacher
has any recommendations or ideas, please become
a part of this project and email me.
